Barry has over 38 years driving experience, formally working in HM Forces - attaining the rank of Sergeant. In 1987 he joined South Wales Police, where he remained until he retired in November 2013!

During Barry´s Police Career, he was heavily involved in training Police Recruits of all ages and abilities, male and female officers, both young and mature students. Working as a Training Sergeant throughout Cardiff, his excellent local knowledge of the area, will benefit you, by picking suitable training sites initially, before moving on to more challenging drives!

Barry has also worked with the Traffic department within ´Roads Policing´ as an ´Advanced Police Driver´ and uses his knowledge and experience to further assist new drivers in both their driving manner and attitude.

After leaving South Wales Police in November 2013, Barry decided that he wanted to continue training, but also wanted to use his driving and traffic skills to optimum use - and by qualifying as a Driving Instructor he could combine both his love of mentoring and training, with his passion for high standards of driving.

Rather than rush into qualifying, Barry looked into every aspect of is new career, studying for 2 years to ensure that he could give you - the customer the very best service - with a determination to teach "Safe Driving For Life", and not just pass a ´Test´.

Barry has now been an Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) for over 7 years, and is also a qualified A1 Assessor, holding the relevant NVQ. Averaging One Practical Test PASS every week, thats well over 300 happy drivers, AND INCREASING!
You will be training in a fantastic New BMW 116.i Hatchback, Dual Controlled, with front and rear dash-cam´s providing both safety and comfort.
